BACKGROUND AND CALL Cody was raised in an Air Force family. At 16 he attended a Presbytery Sr. High summer camp where he realized that Jesus accepted him for who he was. Later, he entered Emory University with the intention of becoming a pilot in the US Air Force. That dream was changed because of an accident. Through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ’s Institute of Biblical Studies in Mexico, Cody acknowledged Christ as Lord. He says, “That was when my Christian life really began”. After graduation from Emory, Cody entered Columbia Theological Seminary. While there, he attended InterVarsity’s Urbana Mission Conference and made a commitment to serve in cross-cultural mission should God open the door. SERVICE During Seminary, Cody was as
an intern with the Lay Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in inner city
Atlanta. He also worked as a PC(USA) Volunteer in Mission in Korea, served a two
church pastorate, directed the Presbyterian Center for Mission Studies in
Pasadena, served as a PCUSA mission co-worker in Bangladesh, and as missionary
in residence in New Harmony Presbytery in South Carolina. His international
travel experiences include trips to Berlin, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Ethiopia,
Japan, Egypt, Sudan, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Mexico and Central Asia Teaching in and promoting the course “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement” is part of Cody’s passion and ministry focus. Cody says, “Perspectives is the best instrument I know to mobilize a local church to become a missional congregation”. Currently, Cody is PFF’s resource person for Frontier Mission in South Asia, India (especially the state of Bihar), Nepal and Bangladesh. HOW CODY CAN HELP YOUR CHURCH Seminar and Retreat Themes
