BACKGROUND AND CALL

Denise was raised in an active Christian home in Westlake, Oh, a  suburb of Cleveland.  She developed her heart for mission attending her church youth group which took yearly domestic mission trips.  Denise went on to graduate with a degree in International Business from Grove City College in Grove City, PA.  She then spent 15 years doing customer service and outside sales in the field of International Transportation.  Eventually, Denise felt the Lord was calling her to be a stay at home mom with more time to focus on her family and her work on the mission committee at Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church (CCUPC).   After the family moved to New Wilmington, PA, Denise felt another nudge from the Lord.  This time her call was to go back to work and combine her past sales experience with her mission experience to further frontier mission in local congregations.

SERVICE

Denise was on the mission committee at CCUPC from its very creation.  As part of the committee, and eventually the chair, she was active in getting CCUPC involved in international mission.  In 2005, Denise led a team of 10 to Honduras for CCUPC’s first ever mission trip.  Denise is now on the mission committee at New Wilmington Presbyterian Church and a member of the Sudan Network Leadership Team in the Shenango Presbytery.  Denise has also been involved in World Mission Initiative Conferences and has taken the Perspectives course.

MINISTRY FOCUS

After helping her own mission committee that was eager to be involved with mission, but not sure where to start, Denise is excited to now be a resource for other churches.  Denise would like to help pastors and mission committees evaluate their participation in God’s plan to spread the gospel to every people group.

HOW DENISE CAN HELP YOUR CHURCH

  • Share PFF’s vision “For every people an indigenous church, for every church a mission vision”.

  • Meet with mission committees and other church leaders about mission strategies for local congregations.

  • Lead a Sunday school class, give a children's sermon or a minute for mission.

  • Help local Presbyterian congregations to become more aware of Presbyterian-related mission efforts around the world.

  • Provide resources and connections for congregations to develop partnerships with overseas mission work.
